Description

The original #24 was built by Baldwin in 1919 a a 2-6-2 Prairie locomotive for a two foot railway in Maine USA. The Roundhouse model on offer is a credible replica of the original but designed to run on 45 mm or 32 mm track (G scale). The locomotive has had a single owner who ran the engine occasionally on a an extended outdoor layout. It has had approximately 30 hours of run time. The engine is a powerful and smooth runner, fires and steams easily, and pulls a good sized consist easily. As the photographs show, the paint finish is excellent, all manufactured details are all attached. Please review the photographs as they form part of the description. Specifications 2-6-2 outside frame chassis. Fully sprung chassis on the locomotive with compensated bogies on the tender. Double acting slide valve cylinders operated by simplified Wallcharts type valve gear. Dimensions:- length 685mm over buffers, width 120mm, height 150mm, weight 6.0 kg. Operates on 600mm (2ft) radius LGB track. Fittings include: steam regulator, safety valve, pressure gauge, displacement lubricator, gas regulator, reversing gear, exhaust enhancer (chuffer), insulated wheels, and internal gas firing ‘FG’ burner. Haden water top-up system is installed allowing continuous steaming for long periods. Wheels may be adjusted on the axels for either 32 or 45 mm gauge. (Track gauge and wrenches included). Colour: black, silver smokebox and oxide red roof. The unit on offer has servos installed to control direction and steam regulation. A LED headlight has been installed in the locomotives main headlamp and operates off the R/C battery. R/C Receiver, battery, and on/off switch are located in the tender. The R/C receiver is not supplied allowing the new oner to install the system of their choice. Original buffers are included in the package. The maple leaf logo on the tender is easily removed.
