The 1962 Detroit Tigers included Hall-of-Famers Al Kaline and Jim Bunning along with Rocky Colavito, Norm Cash, Bill Freehan, Jake Wood, Billy Bruton, Dick McAuliffe, Chico Fernandez, Paul Foytack, Hank Aguirre, Frank Lary and Don Mossi. The section 'Watch For These Faces" profiles potential future Tigers, and pictures prospects Mickey Stanley, Jim Northrup, Mickey Lolich, and Gates Brown among others. The 1962 Tigers were managed by Bob Scheffing and went 85-76, finishing 4th in the A.L. Al Kaline led the Tigers in Batting at .304. Norm Cash led the team in Home runs with 39 while Rocky Colavito was the team leader in RBI with 112. Jim Bunning led Tiger pitchers in Wins with 19 and Strikeouts with 184. Hank Aguirre led the team and the AL in ERA at 2.21. The condition of this yearbook is Good. The front cover has nice color, with some wear. There is some corner creasing to the right side corners. There is a 1" tear off the top left edge, above the "O" in "DETROIT." The tear extends into the yearbook's first 32 pages. It appears that the yearbook was folded in half vertically years ago. The back cover has nice color, with some wear. There is some corner creasing to the left side corners. There are a pair of staple holes at the upper right area to the left and slightly above the hat on the right side. The spine is strong, with some fuzziness at the tips. The insides are clean, but the center page spread has separated from the rest of the yearbook. The yearbook is complete. Please check the scans.
