The 1971 Detroit Tigers were led by Hall-of-Famer Al Kaline, along with Bill Freehan, Norm Cash, Willie Horton, Dick McAuliffe, Mickey Stanley, Eddie Brinkman, Aurelio Rodriguez, Jim Northrup, Mickey Lolich, Joe Coleman, Les Cain and Fred Scherman. The Tigers went 91-71 in 1971, finishing 2nd in the AL East. They were managed by Billy Martin. Al Kaline led the Tigers in Batting at .294. Norm Cash led the team with 32 Home Runs and 91 RBI. Mickey Lolich led Tiger pitchers and the AL in Wins with 25 and Strikeouts with 308. Fred Scherman was the team leader in ERA at 2.71. The condition of this yearbook is VG-EX. The front cover has nice color and gloss, with light wear. The back cover has nice color, with light staining. The spine is strong, with some fuzziness at the tips. The insides are clean.
