The black and white pictures in quite a few sections of the book are wonderful. The narration is well written though not exceptional literature by any means. The overall impression is that this was a very unique experience not likely to be repeated and the shared love of the animals and people demonstrate a close relationship can be had despite the usual characteristics of wild lions and people.
