Joseph Pennell intaglio etching Ponte Alle Grazie sul Arno Florence Italy. Clever fellow. I will switch out the acidic cardboard backing with acid free FomCor. Signed and dated bottom right Pennell April 1883. Joseph Pennell apparently spent a lot of time in Florence. Clever fellow. He seemed to prefer the famous Ponte Vecchio as his primary subject. This intaglio etching of the Ponte Alle Grazie, just down river, may be unique in his portfolio. But wait, don’t lament, there is a still a peek at the star of the show, upper left quadrant. 8 x 12 inches. 14 x 18 framed. I will switch out the acidic cardboard backing with acid free FomCor. Signed and dated bottom right Pennell April 1883. Grazie molto!
