RARE HAND-BLOWN MURANO GLASS CAMEL SCULPTURE COLORFUL ITALIAN MADE MCM VINTAGE. He has black glass eyes and a big green nose. This piece is truly stunning piece of art! This is a large and chunky HAND-MADE what I believe is a CAMEL. It takes the form of a quirky - almost cartoon-like camel. The camel is a BACTRIAN CAMEL - with TWO humps. The interior of the model is a bright yellow colour to suggest the colour of the camel, and this is then cased with clear glass. He has black glass eyes and a big green nose. These glass animals (especially the camels) are difficult to source and a harder to find MURANO item. This one is certainly mid-century ITALIAN / MURANO in origin. These stylised glass animals were distributed for sale by Jordan's Importing Company (JiCo). JICO was an American-based import company, that imported Italian Murano and Florentine glass to the USA between the mid-1950s - early 1970s making this item vintage! This item is in GREAT CONDITION with absolutely NO chips, scratches or cracks throughout this piece!! HOWEVER, there is rubber holders on the bottom for display. These could be easily removed if needed, please see photos as this does not affect the overall appearance! Mr Camel is a nice size for display and measures: 6 inches in height. The length is 6 inches and the depth is 3 1/4 inches. He looks great on display and would make a GREAT gift for any CAMEL lovers! Or someone who collects vintage Murano glass sculptures or someone who loves animal glass figurines and is looking to add anothe!! This piece is truly stunning piece of art!
