The bowls would be a fabulous gift and look stunning on anyone’s table or china cabinet. The Ginori Company was founded in 1735 as the Doccia Porcelain Manufactory near Florence, Italy. The Doccia Porcelain Manufactory became Richard Ginori in 1896 when the Società Ceramica Richard of Milan merged with Ginori. In 2013, Gucci acquired Richard Ginori based on their reputation as a classic, luxury Italian dinnerware manufacturer that blended traditional Italian craftsmanship with functional elegance. Gucci re-branded Richard Ginori to Ginori 1735. The highly sought-after, discontinued Perugia Fruit and Flowers pattern was introduced in 1980 and discontinued in 2005. The design features a small hand-painted, multicolored fruit and wildflower motifs on a white porcelain body (Vecchio or old body style) with an elegantly embossed basketweave relief rim with gently scalloped rims, and an elegant 24 kt gold-trimmed edge. The backstamp is the handpainted green crown, Richard Ginori, Italy, with the “Finest In China Since 1735” gold banner. Brand: Richard Ginori 1735 Pattern: Perugia Origin: Made in Italy Material: Fine Porcelain Style: Berry/Fruit/Dessert/Sauce Bowla, Plum & 2 Cherries Motif with Gold Trim on Edge Bowl Dimensions: 5-7/8” rim-to-rim x 1-1/2" tall, 1-1/4” deep Weight: Each bowl weighs 5.1 ounces. Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition with no flea bites, nicks, chips, cracks, or crazing observed. The hand-painted fruit and floral motifs are vibrant. The bowls have experienced utensil marks. There are several small areas with worn or missing paint. See the photos. Gold Trim: The gold-painted rims and handle accents are intact with only very minor, light wear consistent with casual handling. Check the photos. I recommend hand washing to preserve and protect the gold trim and the hand painted fruits and flowers. The bowls are not microwave safe due to the metal trim.
