Set of 2 Plates 1938 Gio Ponti Elissa Richard Ginori Pre-War Ivory Cobalt 7" 9". You will receive a set of two fantastic condition Made in Italy 1938 pre-WWII creamware / warm ivory tone set of two plates, a 9 1/4" luncheon plate and a 6 3/4" dessert / side / bread plate made in the San Cristoforo factory in Milan in the late 1930s. You will receive a set of two fantastic condition Made in Italy 1938 pre-WWII creamware / warm ivory tone set of two plates, a 9 1/4" luncheon plate and a 6 3/4" dessert / side / bread plate made in the San Cristoforo factory in Milan in the late 1930s. Evidence heavily suggests these were manufactured by Gio Ponti for Richard Ginori. The scripted R and date print and color, as well as the year, / S Cristoforo stamp is reminiscent of other popular patterns by Gio Ponti in 1938 out of Italy. Antique white handpainted with mediterranean cobalt blue / french blue / majolica blue / even ink blue I would call it, incredibly vibrant for its age and in fantastic antique condition. Has minimal wear, minor cosmetic flaws, and crazing is limited and only to the underside of each plate.
