RARE Chinese Mid-Century Porcelain 4 Seasons Nude Fairies Bathing-Great VTG Cond. A stunning and highly collectible porcelain Seasonal Fairy group from China's historic porcelain capital, Jingdezhen. Even though these Fairies are a bit risqué, they manage to maintain an air of sophistication about themselves. A stunning and highly collectible porcelain Seasonal Fairy group from China's historic porcelain capital, Jingdezhen. This piece features the tastefully nude 'Four Seasons Flower Fairies' (春夏秋冬花仙子), each representing a season: Spring Camellia, Summer Lotus, Autumn Chrysanthemum, and Winter Plum. The four ethereal figures are beautifully arranged around a rocky grotto adorned with roses, their serene expressions and elaborate updos capturing the grace of Chinese immortal art - managing to provide an imagery of erotica, while keeping it classy. Even though these Fairies are a bit risqué, they manage to maintain an air of sophistication about themselves. This is a piece that can be proudly displayed anywhere in your home. What makes this piece truly special: Each fairy is individually named on the base: - **春茶花仙子** — Spring Camellia Flower Fairy - **夏莲花仙子** — Summer Lotus Flower Fairy - **秋菊花仙子** — Autumn Chrysanthemum Flower Fairy - **冬梅花仙子** — Winter Plum Flower Fairy The side panel carries the evocative poetic inscription: **龍枝水流流池** **仙人法皆是** **凡人法皆是** "Dragon-branch water flows into the pool; immortal ways are all thus; mortal ways are all thus." The bottom bears the official **Jingdezhen stamp** (中国景德镇) alongside **MADE IN CHINA** — verifying its origin in the world's most famous porcelain center. Condition: Very good vintage condition. One smaller, nearly invisible crack, or crease, on the porcelain which can be seen in the photo, as well as one small chip on the bottom of one of the fairies robes which is completely invisible - unless you were holding the statue and looking down into it, looking for flaws. It is totally invisible while on display. I have included a photo of this as well. Otherwise, there is only very minor age-related wear such as light fading to the painted details in a few small areas — barely noticeable and entirely appropriate for a piece of this vintage. Size: Approximately 13"×7"×6" inches — an ideal display size for a shelf, cabinet, or tabletop. This is a rare opportunity to own a beautifully preserved, fully inscribed Jingdezhen figural group from the mid-20th century.
