Known for his authentic honky-tonk delivery and driving rhythms, he recorded several highly sought-after singles for local independent labels. "Pick Up Your Hammer" is a fantastic mid-1960s up-tempo track that highlights his robust vocals and classic Midwestern country-rock string work. The B-side, "Two Fools In Love," slows things down into a heartfelt, melodic country ballad. Both sides perfectly capture the raw, unpolished energy of the era's regional independent music scene. 💎 CONDITION vinyl: near mint minus (NM-) sleeve: generic 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS This is a scarce and highly collectible mid-60s regional release. Because it was pressed by a small independent label based in Kansas City, the production run was very limited—primarily intended for local jukebox placement and regional radio stations. Finding original copies in decent playable condition is quite difficult today. It features the classic first-pressing deep blue label design adorned with the iconic golden "R" audio-wave logo. 🔍 MATRIX / LABEL DETAILS Matrix Side A (hand-etched): R-225 Matrix Side B (hand-etched): R-226 Runout Stamp (both sides): Phillips ◊ s m Label Details: Blue paper labels with gold print.
