Times Square New York 1946 Authentic photo January 1st, New Year's Day 5" x 7". As I am being transparent about what I think I have, but wish I knew more. Vintage Times Square New York New Year's Day January 1st, 1946 photo 5" x 7" This Times Square photo which was ringing in the New year, on New Year's day January 1st, 1946 (as written on back of photo). It was likely operated by the Auto-Photo Company or some other similar company in New York Times Square and provided novelty photograph machines in the mid-20th century. Their machines offered an instant, physical print, which was a popular form of entertainment in busy public spaces like Times Square at that time especially for people in New York City on New Year's Eve, December 31st, 1945 waiting for the new Year to start. These booths often featured a seat where customers could pose, sometimes with a custom background, to receive a memento of their visit. The specific booth with a fake car setup would have been one of their specialty or novelty models designed to attract customers with a unique photo opportunity. But this is a very interest photo that I obtained in a Yard Sale, where there are multiple post cards from the same people who's names are on back of the photo where they traveled across the USA and in other countries. This photo just happened to catch a moment in New York City at a novelty photo stand for, who's names appear to be : Judy, Manie, Anna & Jackie (I think). I think it would be an awesome piece to someone's collection of vintage photos. I know only what I found. If you know more, great. Selling as is, and as what appears to be a great timeless moment. I do not know these people, but the other postcards I have from them are vintage from the 1940's, 50's and 60's. There are no refunds, returns, sorry, All sales final. As I am being transparent about what I think I have, but wish I knew more. Good luck and this listing is only a few weeks before New Year's Eve/Day, I felt it appropriate to list and see if someone would like it. Please ask any questions, prior to bidding.
