The Japanese films that I offer for auction are often ones that I purchased after much searching. I pay a lot for them, and that is why the auction price is set as it is. I buy them all new and wrapped. I have so many films and need to free up space in my cabinets! Based on the original work by Osaragi Jiro, this masterpiece of period dramas from the late Edo period has been remade many times since the silent film era. This is the first in which Ichikawa Raizo plays Kurata Norisuke, also known as Kurama Tengu. Directed by Yasuda Kimiyoshi, this film dynamically depicts the exploits of Kurama Tengu, who hides his true identity in a black hood, appears dashingly, and disappears without a trace. In addition to Ichikawa Raizo, the talented cast also includes Nakamura Tamao, Fujimaki Jun, Nakamura Takeya, and Nakamura Atsuo.Kyoto was in the throes of turmoil at the end of the Edo period. The Loyalist Party, working to overthrow the shogunate, and the Shinsengumi, frantically pursuing them, were engaged in fierce battles on a daily basis. Amidst all this, there was a black-hooded swordsman named Kurama Tengu who would appear out of nowhere, help the patriots, and then disappear without a trace. Meanwhile, the ronin Kurata Norisuke rented the second floor of a back-street hardware store and made a leisurely living teaching calligraphy to local children. COMBINED SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE. I'm very happy with this item. It is exactly what I had been looking for in a very long time. Item was exactly as described. Fast shipping. Good packaging. Great value since this is a very difficult to get edition of the Hobbit. All discs were in perfect condition. I appreciate when sellers post the actual pictures of the item instead of stock photos from the internet. Well done. Amazing seller.
