Oscar and Emmy winner Lou Gossett, Jr. ("An Officer and a Gentleman," "Roots") and Oscar nominee Bruce Dern ("Coming Home") star in "Carolina Skeletons," a gripping mystery based on David Sour's 1989 Edgar Award-winning novel. Melissa Leo ("All My Children"), G.D. Spradlin ("Godfather II"), Bill Cobbs ("Decoration Day") and Paul Roebling ("Darrow") also star. In 1967 Major James Bragg (Gossett), a career Marine officer, returns from Vietnam to his childhood home in rural South Carolina to visit his dying mother. There he accepts her last request to clear his dead brother's name of the 1934 murders of two young girls - a crime for which Linus Bragg was executed at the age of 14. Bragg insists that Junior Stoker (Dern), the small-town sheriff whose father (Spradlin) was sheriff at the time of Linus' execution, reopen the case. Aided in his investigation by Stoker's daughter, Cassie (Leo), Bragg finds his own life is endangered as he tries to unravel the mystery that has haunted him for decades.
