The decorative plate embodies the elegance of the Edwardian era with its glossy milk glass and hand-painted details, bringing a touch of yesteryear to any setting. This antique Westmoreland Specialty Company No. 5 Cat Plate features a delightful trio of kittens. The company introduced these plates in 1901 and manufactured them off and on until 1952. Given the hand-painting and its condition, this plate was made early on. The decorative plate embodies the elegance of the Edwardian era with its glossy milk glass and hand-painted details, bringing a touch of yesteryear to any setting. The plate is in very good antique condition. The glass is completely intact - no chips or cracks. The paint is in reasonable condition - the cats are still mostly covered with the gold paint, the flowers are almost fully present, and you can read Merry Christmas along the bottom. The open lace loops and finials have lost most of their paint (originally green and gold).
