1980 Winnipeg Blue Bombers Canadian Football League Pocket Schedule. This “Buy it Now” offering is for an original vintage 1980 Winnipeg Blue Bomber Canadian Football League pocket schedule. The Blue Bombers finished the season 10-6 for second in the Western Conference, then won their Division semi-final playoff game before being eliminated in the Division finals. Future Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Dieter Brock passed for a league leading 28 touchdowns and 4,252 yards and he was named the league’s Most Outstanding Player. Running back William Miller rushed for 1,053 yards, third best in the league, was named a CFL All Star and received the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie award. Wide receiver Mike Holmes led the league with 79 receptions and had a third best 1,092 receiving yards to be named to the CFL All Star team. Offensive guard Larry Butler and offensive tackle Butch Norman were also named to the CFL All Star team. Coach Ray Jauch was named the CFL’s Coach of the Year. The team also included future Canadian Football Hall of Famers Paul Bennett , John Bonk , John Helton , Joe Poplawski and Bob Cameron (his rookie season). Cameron went on to play 23 seasons with Winnipeg and he remains the CFL's all-time leading punter with 134,301 regular season punting yards.
