Fields and Me," returned to a studio movie set for the first time since the 1950's to meet Valerie Perrine, who portrays her, and to appear in a scene in which she worked as an extra in "Mississippi," circa 1935. Universal's "W.C. Fields and Me," starring Rod Steiger and Valerie Perrine, and also starring John Marley and Jack Cassidy, was produced by Jay Weston and directed by Arthur Hiller. The affectionate, unvarnished look at the like and times of the comedy genius co-stars Dana Elcar, Paul Stewart, Billy Barty, Allan Arbus, Milt Kamen, Louis Zorich, Andres Parks and Bernadette Peters.
