Pink Floyd's 1995 double live album Pulse returns — as a lavish four-LP box set! Recorded during the internationally acclaimed rock band's 1994 Division Bell tour, and including The Dark Side of the Moon performed live in full, Pulse was compiled by recording engineer and producer James Guthrie using various tour performances. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, Gilmour performs all lead vocals except for "Astronomy Dominé," "Time" and "Comfortably Numb," which were sung by Wright. "Astronomy Domine" is a Syd Barrett song not performed since the early 1970s. This new set includes four records pressed on 180-gram vinyl, each with different inner sleeves (and outer) sleeves. The package includes a 52-page hardback photo book, with everything slotting into a thick card outer slipcase. The audio has been remastered from the original tapes by Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. Aubrey Powell (of Hipgnosis) has recreated the artwork with Peter Curzon, who worked on the original design with Storm Thorgerson. The collection has long been unavailable, and (like the original cassette) includes "One of These Days," which wasn't included on the CD version. The album includes The Dark Side of the Moon performed in full live, as well as a whole side dedicated to the show's encore. Unlike the band's first live album, 1988's Delicate Sound of Thunder, David Gilmour and record producer James Guthrie have stated that no parts of the songs were re-recorded in the studio (Guthrie confirmed this in an interview with Pink Floyd fanzine Brain Damage). However, the band and Guthrie fixed songs that had bad notes (as heard on some bootlegs) by lifting solos and corrected vocal lines from other performances as the band recorded most of the European leg.
