Issei Suda is known for his masterpieces such as "Fushi Kaden" (1978) and "Human Memory" (1996). His expressive style captures the extraordinary hidden within the everyday, guiding the viewer's perspective into an "other world." This approach not only offers a new angle on established images but also reveals the profound interest of photography. Regarding Suda's photographic technique, Kiyoji Otsuji once said: "He shifts things a little. What does he shift? For example, the timing of the shot. He doesn't capture the moment when a person seems most like themselves, but rather the moment just slightly off from that. In doing so, a slight shadow is cast between the image I hold in my common sense. Metaphorically speaking, this shadow creates a three-dimensional effect, etching out the person's true presence and filling the image with an enhanced sense of reality." This book is a collection of images captured by Suda after a long hiatus from photography following his serious illness in March 2015. He resumed shooting from the passenger seat of his wife's car, capturing the passing scenery for the first time in a long while.
