Die vorgeschlagenen GE-Optionen für die Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) sind: (1) Energieerzeugung aus Biomasseabfällen wie Pellets, Briketts und Biogas aus organischen Abfällen (2) Nutzung energieeffizienter Kochherde wie Öko-Herde auf institutioneller, gewerblicher und Haushaltsebene. Die derzeitige Menge an Biomasseabfällen, die in Pellets und Briketts umgewandelt wird, beträgt: Abellon - 25.000 MT pro Jahr, Esereso Carbon Products - 4.000 MT/Jahr und Sustainable Energy Solutions - 100 MT Holzabfälle werden zu 30 MT Anzündholz pro Monat verarbeitet.
