Publisher Description Since January 2004, Mossbauer spectrometers [1] have been making measurements on Mars as a component of the Athena instrument suite because the technique can "yield information about early Martian environmental conditions" and can help in "identifying minerals formed in hot, watery environments that could preserve fossil evidence of Martian life" (from an early Athena web site; cf. [2]). The spectrometers are mounted on the instrument deployment armsoftwo Mars Exploration Rovers, MER-A (Spirit) and MER-B (Opportunity), where they have access to a wide range of rocks and soils. Initial measurements at the Spirit site showed that surface samples contained primarily basaltic minerals with weathering by physical processes [3], while mineralogy inferred from data acquired at the Opportunity site provided evidence for past aqueous processes [4]. More recently, Mossbauer spectroscopy has identified goethite at Columbia Hills [5] and contributed to an understanding of the nature of Martian atmospheric dust and its implications for the history of water on Mars [6]. It is important that MER-team results be verified and expanded upon.   2. The basket is perfectly what I ordered and as listed. It came in the factory packaging and was perfect upon delivery. Thank you postal service lol. The delivery took way longer than listed though, it was listed to come in a week from purchase, but took a whole month. I had some concerns at first, but communication with the company was top notch and they were very professional and answered most of my questions satisfyingly. Just prepare for a longer wait than listed, but I got what I bought lol.

  3. The two new out-of-print books I ordered were exactly as described and shipped promptly. I did ask the seller's support person (an AI chatbot, I think) to be sure to package the items carefully, and "he" said that he'd make that request of the shipping department. I knew this was hooey, and as I expected, the books were shipped in nothing but a padded paper mailer, no other protection. I got lucky, no damage, but don't bother making special requests of this seller.
