Vintage 1970-80s, Excellent Policeman Soviet MVD Police Military Badge Pin. This badge is one of the awards used in the USSR. It depicts a red star, a shield with a hammer and sickle, and the inscriptions: "Excellent employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" and "Militia". This badge was awarded to police officers for outstanding merit, high performance, dedication to duty and professional skill. The USSR actively used such awards to encourage law enforcement officers, as well as to increase the motivation and prestige of the service. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) awarded its employees with such badges to recognize their contribution to maintaining law and order.
