The Nile on eBay FREE SHIPPING UK WIDE The Boundary Element Method, Volume 2 by M.H. Aliabadi The boundary element method (BEM) is a general numerical technique for the solution of engineering problems. Viewed as a viable alternative to more traditional computational methods of mathematical engineering, BEM is an established technique with considerable popularity. FORMAT Hardcover LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Publisher Description The boundary element method (BEM) is a modern numerical technique, which has enjoyed increasing popularity over the last two decades, and is now an established alternative to traditional computational methods of engineering analysis. The main advantage of the BEM is its unique ability to provide a complete solution in terms of boundary values only, with substantial savings in modelling effort. This two-volume book set is designed to provide the readers with a comprehensive and up-to-date account of the boundary element method and its application to solving engineering problems. Each volume is a self-contained book including a substantial amount of material not previously covered by other text books on the subject. Volume 1 covers applications to heat transfer, acoustics, electrochemistry and fluid mechanics problems, while volume 2 concentrates on solids and structures, describing applications to elasticity, plasticity, elastodynamics, fracture mechanics and contact analysis. The early chapters are designed as a teaching text for final year undergraduate courses. Both volumes reflect the experience of the authors over a period of more than twenty years of boundary element research. This volume, Applications in Solids and Structures, provides a comprehensive presentation of the BEM from fundamentals to advanced engineering applications and encompasses: Elasticity for 2D, 3D and Plates and ShellsNon-linear, Transient and Thermal Stress AnalysisCrack Growth and Multi-body Contact MechanicsSensitivity Analysis and OptimisationAnalysis of Assembled Structures. An important feature of this book is the in-depth presentation of BEM formulations in all the above fields, including detailed discussions of the basic theory, numerical algorithms and where possible simple examples are included, as well as test results for practical engineering applications of the method. Although most of the methods presented are the latest developments in the field, the author has included some simple techniques, which are helpful in understanding the computer implementation of BEM. Another notable feature is the comprehensive presentation of a new generation of boundary elements known as the Dual Boundary Element Method. Written by an internationally recognised authority in the field, this is essential reading for postgraduates, researchers and practitioners in Aerospace, Mechanical and Civil Engineering and Applied Mathematics. Would reccomend this seller 110%! messaged me to verify I was certain and happy with what I was buying and checked in regularly to ensure I was never confused on when the package was due or shipped! When I was out during the delivery, the seller went out of their way to ensure I was kept up to date on the redelivery and tracking info! Recieved safely and all products were pristine condition! Securely packed and good value for money - even came with freebies :) very high quality would buy again!
I had a ‘90s copy. I was excited about the new edition. With a new forward by J Wasserman and intro by LM DuQuette. The book was excellent value and it arrived in perfect condition as it was sold new. A gorgeous looking tome.I gave 5 stars for the description, I had no communication with the seller and only gave 4 stars for Dispatch Time. Dispatched on Nov 4th with the last day being tomorrow. The process was great. Highly recommended. I’ve done business with these guys and will continue to.
Good seller despite the negative feedback that I read. Communication has been excellent, seller has been responding professionally. The seller gave me a delivery date and the book arrived on time as promised. Book came in excellent mint condition. My only criticism would be that the seller should mention in the description that they do not keep the books in stock and have to order them in. This gives the buyer expectations that they have to wait a little longer to receive their book.
