Hironori Kikuchi Art Book Alchemical Graphic Japan Use Description A work by Hironori Kikuchi, first published April 27, 2019. Since his debut in the manga magazine Garo in 1995, he has depicted surreal stories with pop characters, publishing books such as "Bakuretsu Meditation Bakitoma-do," "Gedatsuman," and "Heromi's Summer Vacation." These works have recently been translated into French. Around 2011, Kikuchi began using manga techniques to depict images he had seen in his dreams or that came to his mind in a new style. His works from 2011 to 2016, in particular, frequently reference alchemy, copperplate engraving, woodblock prints, and the words of ancient sorcerers. This collection, which spans a period of roughly eight years, has been compiled into a new collection titled "ALCHEMICAL GRAPHICS." His monochrome drawings, filled to the brim with intricate images, resemble excavated ancient stone tablets or messages from aliens. Kikuchi Hironori Japanese manga artist and painter. His real name is Kikuchi Hiroki. During his junior high school years, he listened to a lot of hard rock and heavy metal. After entering university, he began working in design, but was dissatisfied and made his debut as a manga artist in Garo, changing his name to Kikuchi Hiroki and then Kikuchi Hironori. After Garo ceased publication, he began publishing his works in AX, but his last work was published in Vol. 12 of AX on December 25, 1999, and he has not published any more works in the magazine since. His work was featured in Vol. 68 of AX on April 30, 2009, in the special feature "Susie Amakane and the Nuri Comic School," his first work in 10 years, but he has not published any works since. His works were published in the indie manga magazine "Kaku." In 2011, "Kaku" published a special issue on Hironori Kikuchi, and in 2019, he independently published "Hironori Kikuchi: The Drawing of Alchemical Graphics." Great item, maybe just a little pricey. I purchased for the sale price, but would have liked to have seen the item for 35% or so less. Still though, a good item, and I believe it is an actual vintage piece and not a knock off. The seller was great with their communication, and it was a good experience overall receiving the item.
