With a broken heart and feeling foolish for falling for another deceitful man, Jade takes off to her cousin's house in California, hoping Trent will not be able to find her. When Jade vanishes, Trent hires a private investigator who tracks Jade to the Big sur. Depressed and careless Jade falls causing a miscarriage. But when Trent finds her, he believes she aborted their child and has no feelings for him. When he returns to Atlanta, Trent insists that Jade return to complete the photography contract as soon as she is well enough or face being sued for breech of contract. When he overhears a snide comment Lana makes to Jade, Trent finally realizes his mistake.
