I have been shown that this statement means that Jesus secures our salvation, and as our part is to diligently "abide in Christ" through obedience. We will see from both Mathew and John that Jesus taught this. That should be enough, but I will show from seven New Testament books that this is what the Bible teaches. I certainly did not set out to present what could be seen as a compromise between the "once saved always saved" crowd, and those who teach that "you can lose your salvation," but in essence that is what I have done. While in one sense it is a compromise of these two views, and holds similarities to both of them, it is completely different from both of them.
