The author examines these films plus many others - over sixty in fact - in a loving look back at what made these films so special, as well as their unique place in the annals of cinema. He analyzes films from great producers such as George Pal and Tomoyuki Tanaka, to masters of special effects like Ray Harryhausen and Eiji Tsuburaya, and skilled directors such as Sergio Leone and Stanley Kubrick. After giving a detailed synopsis of each film, he then closely examines and offers concise comments on them in a manner meant to engage as well as elucidate.
