Description
For sale is a Vintage Pencil Case Set made as a custom promotional item for Hanover Brands during the 1960s to 1970s. "Hanover Brands," now Hanover Foods Corporation, is widely known for its canned and frozen vegetables. The set features a red pencil box with a likeness of the company's mascot, "Elfie," stamped in light orange on the bottom. A blue ruler with customized lettering doubles as a sliding top to the case, which contains an unused red pencil (also bearing the customized lettering "GOOD FOODS FROM HANOVER)," as well as unused generic red and yellow crayons. The set is in NEW & UNUSED condition with no visible flaws, although the eraser on the pencil has hardened from age. (SEE PICTURES for condition details). My father-in-law worked as an executive food broker for the A&P grocery store chain in the 1970s and 1980s, and he received this as a promotional item.
