Snepp 3rd leaves Alexandria Court This is an original press photo. Alexandria, Virginia: A glum-looking former CIA agent is Frank W. Snepp 3rd as he leaves U.S. District Court here July 7 after a judge ruled he violated his secrecy oath by writing and publishing an unauthorized and highly critical book, "Decent Interval," about the agency. The court ordered that all of Snepp's "ill-gotten gains" be turned over to the government. Snepp, who will appeal, said, "No American should be deprived of his freedom of speech simply because he criticized the government." His book deals with the CIA's evacuation of Saigon, now called Ho Chi Minh City, at the end of American involvement in the Vietnam War.Photo measures 8 x 10inches. Photo is dated 07-07-1978.
