Description

Vintage Original 1984 Hasbro G1 Transformers Autobot Huffer Action Figure Toy Transform and roll out with this vintage original G1 Transformers Autobot Huffer from 1984! Huffer has got to be one of the goofiest looking Transformers toys ever made. His arms, how does he use them? They’re backwards. And he can’t see crap with the cab surrounding his head. No wonder he’s whiny and pessimistic. Dude is a mess. This Huffer appears to be Type 3 variant from its markings. This is a classic collectible that's in pretty good shape considering his age. There are some scratches, scuffs, and dirt. The arms move a bit too freely for my tastes, but that's probably how they were back in the day. The packaging card is long gone, but the original tech specs/stats card is included. Items of this vintage are like people of this vintage. They can become loose, stiff, scuffed, and their decals can become dirty. Old stuff is old. Please check out the included photographs to see what's included and the condition that it's in. What you see is what you get. No stock photography used. Yes, I take too many photos. The item is sold "as-is." This item will be packaged securely and sent via USPS First Class Mail , and it is also available practically everywhere via the eBay International Shipping Program. Item Specifics: Brand: Transformers Year: 1984 Character: Autobot Huffer Variant: Type 3 Condition: Used Size: 3.75 inches Material: Plastic and metal Features: Articulated joints Color: Yellow, Orange, Gray Thank you for considering this vintage original G1 Transformers Autobot Huffer! Please check out our store for other great items that also have too many photographs. Ok bye! General Information about the Huffer action figure: Huffer is one of the Autobot Mini Vehicles, a subgroup of Transformers that are smaller than the average robot and can fit in a human’s hand. He has the ability to transform into a semi tractor truck that resembles an older Ottawa yard spotter truck, which is a type of vehicle used for moving trailers short distances. He has two large chrome smokestacks and deeply treaded plastic wheels. His transformation is very simple: his chrome arms pull out from the sides, his legs slide down from the rear, and his cab section rotates to reveal his face. Huffer was first released in 1984, in the first wave of Generation 1 Transformers. He was part of the original Takara’s Microman: Microchange line as MC04 Mini CAR Robo 07: Semi Truck. However, it was later discovered that he was actually designed for Knickerbocker Toys’s Mysterians: Mobile Force as a toy called Truckar, before Knickerbocker went out of business and sold the designs to Hasbro or Takara. The sides of his cab bear a stylized “M” logo that represents Mysterians, not Microchange. Huffer did not receive any major design upgrades throughout his production, but he had different date stamps and rubsigns depending on when and where he was released. A rubsign is a heat-sensitive sticker that reveals an Autobot or Decepticon symbol when rubbed. Huffer had an Autobot logo on his roof in 1984, but it was replaced by a rubsign in 1985. His date stamp location is on top of his truck frame behind his cab. The date stamps vary from “Takara Japan” to “©Takara Co. Ltd. Japan 1974-1983 ©Hasbro 1974-1983”. Huffer also had some international variants from Mexico and Greece, with different colors and eye bands. Huffer was available again in 2004 in Japan as part of Takara’s The Transformers Collection Minibot Team Set, along with Bumblebee, Gears, Powerglide and Windcharger. This version was recolored in Japan to produce the e-HOBBY Road Ranger as a member of the G1 Gobots set. Huffer is not related to Pipes, who appears to be a retool of him in 1986, but is actually an entirely new mold with almost every part changed. Huffer’s function is construction engineer, and he has arm sensors that can test materials for strength, heat resistance, elasticity and other properties. He is extremely strong and reliable, but also cynical, hard-boiled and pessimistic. He will complain that something can’t be built, then build it anyway. He looks at the world through sludge-colored windshields and is not too sociable. General Information about the Huffer character: Huffer is a beloved character in the Transformers franchise and was first introduced in 1984 as part of the original G1 toy line. He is a small but tough Autobot who transforms into a semi-trailer truck. Despite his small size, Huffer is known for his incredible strength and determination, making him a valuable member of the Autobot team. In the Transformers animated series, Huffer was often portrayed as a grumpy and pessimistic character, constantly complaining about his assignments and the state of the world. However, he always came through in the end and proved himself to be a loyal and reliable ally to his fellow Autobots. In the comic book series, Huffer had a more serious and introspective personality, often questioning the morality of the Autobot's actions and struggling with his own sense of duty. This added depth to his character and made him a fan favorite. Huffer's toy was one of the smaller and more affordable options in the G1 line, but it was still highly sought after by collectors and fans. His Type 3 variant is particularly rare and sought after, making it a valuable addition to any collection. Overall, Huffer's popularity is a testament to the enduring appeal of the Transformers franchise and the memorable characters that have been created over the years. His strength, determination, and loyalty have made him a fan favorite and an important part of the Transformers mythos.
