The mystery is that this is unsigned. Our best guess is that this is early 1900's. Don't we all love a mystery? Here, on auction, we have an oil on board painting in an Art Deco frame. The impressionist painting shows an unusual landscape of mountains and water with, perhaps, moorings at the water's edge. It's painted with visible brushstrokes and unblended colors. It has a clear acrylic cover. The mystery is that this is unsigned. The painting measures approximately 11" X 14". In its custom frame, this is 17" X 21" X 1 1/8" and weighs 4 pounds 7 ounces. Our best guess is that this is early 1900's. I believe this is in excellent condition. The painting is bright, bold, clean and clear. I see no flaws from it being under a cover. The frame has a few light scuffs, but is ready to hang. The paper on the back has been taped from where I and someone before me peeked to find a signature. This has not been examined out of the frame. As I am not an expert on art, please see my photographs for more description. This is from my friend who collects everything and is starting to part with a few of his treasures. This was purchased decades ago at a gallery in Los Angeles. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
