Discovering English Architecture by T. W. West (2000, Paperback) NF. Near Fine (NF+) --- A book that is in better than Near Fine but is not quite in Fine condition. Near Fine (NF) --- A book that has a few minor flaws and 1 or 2 moderate flaws. A light reading crease on the spine is allowed. Grading Standards - Books: New --- A book that has never been read. As New (AN) --- A book that has been read but looks as if it is New. The book must show no flaws of any kind. The pages must be tight as if just published. Fine (F) --- A book that has 1 or 2 very minor flaws and still retains tight pages. Near Fine (NF+) --- A book that is in better than Near Fine but is not quite in Fine condition. Near Fine (NF) --- A book that has a few minor flaws and 1 or 2 moderate flaws. A light reading crease on the spine is allowed Near Fine - (NF-) ---A book that has many minor flaws and up to 4 moderate flaws. A reading crease either on the spine or along the front edge of the spine is allowed as is a very light cover crease at one of the corners. Very Good + (VG+) --- A book that has many moderate flaws and may have cover creasing. It usually has reading creases, and may have a name inside the book. Very Good (VG) --- A book that looks like the common book found in a used book store or thrift shop. The book usually contains numerous moderate and a few major flaws, it may have some staining on the back cover. Very Good condition books are not collectible unless a higher quality book is expensive. This is the lowest grade book we carry with a few exceptions. Very Good - (VG-) ---A book that has Creasing, heavy wear, and numerous flaws both moderate and major. This book is definitely a reading copy. Good (G) --- A book that belongs in either the trash or the library. Ex-Library (XL) --- A book that has been removed from the library. This book is graded as above. An Ex-Library book Can be graded Very Good + at best. Note---In the case of hardcover editions, the grading may be listed as NF/VG etc. The first grade represents the condition of the book and the second condition represents the dust jacket. In this instance the book would be in Near Fine condition with a Very Good dust jacket.
